Gallery Visit: National Gallery of Canada, Dec 2022

Posted on 2022-12-31

It is interesting/frustrating how few of the contemporary works, in the National Gallery’s collection, have images online. Even searching the NGC’s collection website, returns entries with no images.

This post to be organized at some point.

Mutu, W. (2007) A Fake Jewel in the Crown. [watercolour, acrylic, tape, plastic beads, glitter, fake hair, magazine clippings, and patterned paper attached to frosted mylar with glitter glue] 223 x 135 cm.
Maltais, M. (1957) Iconoclast. [Oil on Canvas] 125.8 x 101.3 cm.
Note: This is a BW image. The painting is not. I couldn’t find a colour version.
Cahén, O. (1963) Animated Item. [Oil on Canvas] 71.5 x 87 cm.
Letendre, R. (1963) Tension on black. [Oil on canvas] 101.4 x 81.1 cm.

Norval (called Copper Thunderbird) Morrisseau (1980) Artist and Shaman between Two Worlds. [Acrylic on canvas] 175 x 282 cm.
